Northland announces GeneScan IP Certification
GeneScan USA and Northland Seed & Grain Corporation are pleased to announce that Northland has chosen GeneScan IP service and worldwide network to third-party certify its Non-GMO IP PURE® Program according to the GeneScan General Standard. Northland Seed & Grain is the first US-based company to begin the GeneScan IP certification process. “We are pleased to inaugurate our GeneScan IP certification operations in the US by working with Northland to certify their IP PURE® whole soybean production against the GeneScan General Standard”, says Michael Russell, President of GeneScan USA.
GeneScan Analytics GmbH currently
has Identity Preservation programs in place in South America, China and
Europe. Northland Seed & Grain President Peter Shortridge says,
“Northland is enthusiastic about the prospect of acquiring GeneScan IP
Certification for our domestic and international whole soybean
business, and we look forward to expanding GeneScan's Certification to
the global ingredient side of our business in the upcoming months.”
GeneScan USA was established four years ago as a US subsidiary of
GeneScan Analytics GmbH. The GeneScan USA laboratory, located near New
Orleans, Louisiana, has quickly become a leader in the GMO detection
industry, serving the seed, feed and food industries. GeneScan Identity
Preservation and Traceability systems have rapidly gained acceptance
and interest within the USA, especially among companies exporting to
the EU and Asian markets. Eurofins Scientific recently acquired the
majority share of GeneScan stock, which now enables GeneScan to provide
the complete range of analytical services to the agricultural and food
industry.
