Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) Commissioner Gene Hugoson recently announced the winners of the sixth-annual MDA Excellence Awards. The awards honor innovative leaders in the agricultural community for achievements in environmental stewardship, international marketing of agricultural products, and promotion of Minnesota agriculture.

High Protein Soybean Varieties from Northland Seed & Grain Approved for Hungarian, EU Seed Catalogs
Northland Seed & Grain Corporation, based in Minnesota, USA is proud to announce that Northland's high protein soybean seed varieties Royalpro®, Minnpro®, Altapro® and Primapro® are now approved for registration in the Hungarian and EU seed catalogs. Northland's collaboration with Hungarian agronomist Gabor Toth, Sales and Production Manager at Nemzedek Bt., resulted in the successful completion of the registration and inscription process with final acceptance of these four varieties. Several of Northland's high protein soybean seed varieties were approved earlier this year for registration in the Italian and EU seed catalogs.

Northland Seed & Grain Corporation, based in Minnesota, USA and S.I.S. (Società Italiana Sementi S.p.A.), based in Bologna, Italy, are proud to announce that Northland's high protein soybean seed varieties Royalpro®, Soyapro®, Minnpro®, Altapro® and Toyopro® have all been approved for registration in the Italian and EU seed catalogs. Northland's collaboration with SIS resulted in the completion of a two year official registration and inscription process with final acceptance of these five varieties, which will now be commercially available for production and use in the food and feed industry in the EU.

Northland announces GeneScan IP Certification
GeneScan USA and Northland Seed & Grain Corporation are pleased to announce that Northland has chosen GeneScan IP service and worldwide network to third-party certify its Non-GMO IP PURE® Program according to the GeneScan General Standard. Northland Seed & Grain is the first US-based company to begin the GeneScan IP certification process. “We are pleased to inaugurate our GeneScan IP certification operations in the US by working with Northland to certify their IP PURE® whole soybean production against the GeneScan General Standard”, says Michael Russell, President of GeneScan USA.
